Hello Parents!

I would love to introduce myself. My name is Shannon and I am a mom of two lovely daughters. My husband works as an English teacher for an online school.

 I grew up in Lake Oswego and attended art school where I studied photography and printmaking. Over the years I have had various jobs in the arts, lived in Georgia, Montana, and California, and have been a nanny for two families.

 After becoming a mom, I knew I wanted to be with my children at home. This is why I started my daycare, Little Acorn. I wanted a chance to have a steady contribution to my family’s finances while working with children in a creative way, while also getting to know the people in my community. My art background, love for children, and overall sense of fun and creativity make me a perfect daycare provider. 

 I have designed Little Acorn Daycare to be a fun and creative space for children to come to each day. It is an art and play-based daycare where we explore many areas of art and have a curriculum that changes either weekly or bi-weekly depending on what we’re learning about. Some examples are: the seasons, bugs, cooking and baking, light & shadows, weather, farming, and the ocean. I want children to be excited to come each day and to be curious about everything!
